EASTER SONRISE SERVICE

This year for Easter Sonrise we will be holding a “Reverse Tenebrae Service.”  The word Tenebrae is Latin for "shadows."  The purpose of a normal Tenebrae service is to retell the story of Christ's crucifixion by reading several Scripture narratives while extinguishing candles and dimming the Sanctuary lights.  At our Easter Sonrise Service, we will read several Scripture passages surrounding Christ’s resurrection while lighting candles and brightening the Sanctuary lights.  The service begins at 6:30 AM and will last approximately 30-40 minutes.  Members of the Magnifiers Team and Administrative Board have volunteered to preside over the service.  At 7:15 AM a Continental Breakfast will be served in the Fellowship Hall by the Willing Ambassadors Class.  Come on out very early on Easter morning for a blessed time at our Reverse Tenebrae Sonrise Service and feel free to stick around for breakfast!
